Just trying out posting a video.  I think I killed this one about 180 yards.

Jason,

The rules of golf permit you to take a stance with BOTH feet on the ground.

Sadly, you listened to TEPaul, who confused the rules of hopscotch with the rules of golf.

Why do you think he keeps singing the words from the "Hokey Pokey"  "You pick your left foot up ....."

If you want to learn something about golf course architecture or playing golf, please don't consult with the longest living resident/patient of Happydale Farms, call me.

I'm a little hurt.  I thought this would be a great instructional video.   :)

Jason-  I'm headed to Ireland and Old Head next week.  What were your impressions, and how many layers of clothing will I need, being a fair weather guy from SoCal?

Jason -- your problem is you keep too much weight on your right foot.

I love picture No. 17 -- of that fantastic skyline green at No. 3.

Nice picture of Mr. Daley, too.

Jason, thanks for the memories.  I have never played golf in more brutal conditions, and yet it might be one of the all time most exhillerating times I've ever tried to play the game.  I still can't believe the score Chad shot in that gale.

And we invented a new term, SICFAO with that photo fo Chad in the cart!

When I get back home tonight, I'm going to try and steal your album to a CD.  I have to call you some evening and get some instructions on how to download and preserve those digital movies.  That is very cool.  I recently video taped Angels Crossing and think it might be neat to show a clip or two.

BTW, for anyone that saw that close-up photo of me in your album... I am fat, but not that fat in the face.  My face was actually swollen from the wind.  My lips swoll up and cracked for days after that weekend.  Golf in those conditions is not for the meek and frail!!! ;) ;D 8)

No actual golf rounds were ruined or delayed, nor golf rules broken, in the taking of any photographs that may be displayed by the above forum user.

Oh, I think I get it... is the movie portion the feature on a digital still camera that you use to make a short movie?  I never used that on my digital still camera.

Jason,

Where was that swing when you were going for 18 at The Reserve in 2?

Maybe that's the difference between playing in 30 degrees and 112 ;)

Jeff (who if you remember right, made birdie Driver, 8iron wedge, lucky ass putt).

Wayne - have a great trip!  When the forecast says "fresh breeze" I learned that means pretty frickin windy.

I would recommend Under Armour, a turtleneck, a thin but warm sweater and a rainsuit.  No need for an umbrella - it will be useless in the wind.  I would also bring shorts because you can get literally any kind of weather.

Buy enough golf balls for the trip before you leave.  They are really expensive there and you will definitely lose a few.

Old Head might be the most spactacular oceanside location I have ever seen (Pebble Beach would be the other contender).  With ocean basically surrounding the course, high cliffs and countless birds below, it is an amazing spot.

I was not a big fan of the course.  I did not think the oceanside holes used the cliffs to the best possible advantage and I thought the interior holes were pretty bland.  I recommend that you enjoy the setting and not worry about the architecture.  Hopefully you will get a sunny day.

Dick -

Feel free to copy the photos.  I now cringe a bit at the Sutton Bay pictures because they are all crooked.  I'll put a video of Mark Amundson teeing off on the downhill par three (15?) for your enjoyment because I believe you will see a familiar figure searching for balls on the hillside to the left.

You are right about the movies.  I just took them on a digital camera and a video tab appeared on my photobucket album so I tried downloading a couple.  If the file is big it takes a while.

Jason,

Good thing you hit your draw in that kind of wind.  My cut no work so good....
