Ireland in March? Is that reasonable?

 We talked about it yesterday. I suggested one foursome. We would like to include Lahinch and Ballybunion and then go to the NW. Do clubs work on the courses this time of year ? I expect the weather to be slightly better than Philadelphia at this time of year. Low 40's ;High 50-60 in Ireland?

   I think we should be able to do this on our own. Agree?

Very doable, but you should bring blind squirrels who will help finance the trip with their losing bets.

If you are doing Ireland in March I'd trundle across to TOC around April 1st for the reverse edition.

It all depends if climate change alters the North Atlantic conveyor belt.

You can get great weather or lousy weather in March. It was 28 C here last week, and this week it's about 12 C.

Links courses are in good shape all year round, so I wouldn't worry about that. I don't know any links courses that close greens for the winter.

You'll also get much better value at that time of year.

Mayday....who cares if its reasonable? you're in Ireland for Gods sake, not Miami looking for a tan...hunker down man.
....my favorite months to play are Nov thru Feb, soon as the trees lose their leaves......and anytime between half eight and four thirty. ;)

Have you heard Norman is doing a course in Iceland?
...maybe this climate change stuff is for real...I love change, least things tend to gel.

I might just swing up to Greenland where I have always wanted to go [done Iceland and Everrest] and scope out the next Bandon before all the rest of these yahoos......Doaks already done Tasmania.....whoud of thought that?

I have not played in Ireland in March, but have been there in November and April.  The weather is always a crap shoot. That said the courses on the East Coast seem to be more temperate in the winter.  But there is an old Norwegian saying, "There is no such thing as bad weather--only bad clothing". Have fun
