Inspired by Matt Cohn's thread of earlier this week and through the kind consideration of the powers that be at Courseco, I have been able to secure the 7:25am/7:35am teetimes on Saturday, March 4 at the new Callippe Preserve golf course (www.playcallippe.com) in Pleasanton.

Courseco has been a driving force in the development and operation of this course, the Metropolitan Golf Links in Oakland and Foxtails in Rhonert Park.

The following expressed an interest in participating on Matt's thread:

Matt Cohn
Tim Leahy
Tom Huckaby
John Keenan
Steve Pieracci

Including yours truly, that leaves 2 open spots. Please respond here if you are interested. I would appreciate it if those listed above would confirm their interest.

If more than 8 of us want to participate, we can attempt to secure an additional teetime via the normal reservation channel two weeks in advance of March 4.

Anyone with questions or comments can contact me via IM or e-mail (tcmnav@aol.com).

David:

WAY TO GO!
That's how these things work - we're all talk, but damn near never action - when one takes action, it's always fun.  You da man.

Count me in.  That gives me a long time to set up the family excuses.  The only thing that could screw me is a change in little league or spring soccer plans, but neither start until March 11 as things are set now.  So I am going to make the firm commitment.  If I have to bail, I will pay for it in scorn as well as money.

Count me in also, do you know if they have a driving range?
I love golf, the fightin irish, and beautiful women depending on the season and availability.

If there is still an opening I'd like to be included.

It will make two rounds this year, reaching about my quota for the last few years, but maybe this year will be my chance to play say half a dozen rounds in one year.

David,

I'm probably very interested.  There is a concert I want to attend in San Francisco on Friday the 3rd.  If I can get tickets for the concert, I'm in.  I'll know Monday morning.  Thanks.

Hey, I'd really like to join you guys but that's the same weekend as the Monterey County Four-ball at Pacific Grove, which I'm pretty sure I'll be playing in.

David,

I'm probably out.

I am going to attend the previously mentioned concert, but I did not realize my wife wants to go too.

My wife can play a little (22 index).  If the time grows near, and you are still short of players, let us know and we'll fill in the remaining spots.

Thanks for the nice opportunity.  It would have been nice to meet all of you, and to see Dan King again.

Sadly I cannot make the date as it is truns out.

Lets not make this a one time event as I would very miuch like to get together.

I would like to join this esteemed group if there is room for me. Thanks for setting this up.

I've been waiting to see if you'd join this Ed - it's been way too long.  I just had this feeling that your "if it's not Rustic or Kingley I don't play" feeling might keep you away.  Glad to hear you are willing to slum for us.

 ;D ;D ;D

It sure appears there's room, btw.  But David will clear that up at some point I'm sure.

Delighted to hear you can join us. At the moment you are #7, so there is one spot still open at the moment.

Tom,
You guys are insurance. ;) No matter how bad the course is I know I will have a great time with this group. Popcorn used to be my insurance when I went to a movie, just in case it sucked. Of course, nowadays the popcorn sucks. :P

I could be up for that.  What is it about this DG?  I had the urge last week (prior to your hickory post) to go out and hit my persimmon driver.  I did so on Sunday, it wasn't that bad.  I will bring it on 3/4.   I may also bring a persimmon 3 wood.

I am being drawn in!

Huck!

Make it stop!! :)

It is pretty crazy.
All this hickory talk got me to cobble together a set of ancient clubs from the garage yesterday... took it to the range... good shots CAN happen, but one does have to really knuckle down.

Hickory will just take this to another whole level... Should be very fun.  I hope I can get a set together before 3/4.  It's looking good.

Sean T. -

You are our 8th player. As of this moment, the participants are:

Matt Cohn
Tom Huckaby
Dan King
Tim Leahy
Steve Pieracci
Ed Getka
Sean Tully
David Tepper

Glad you guys can make it! As I mentioned in my initial post, we can try to book an additional tee-time thru the normal reservation channel if another 3 or 4 players are interested. Anyone else who might want to play, let me know and we can build a waiting list.

If anyone listed above has to bail out, PLEASE let me know ASAP! Thanks.

I was just reminded I'm going down to Arizona to watch spring training that weekend. I'll have to bail.

Sorry about that.
