Some great pictures, Ireland and elsewhere
« on: October 17, 2005, 05:47:32 AM »
I found this website. I think maybe some of his pictures have been posted here, but check out the site. You can see why Portstewart, for example, is so highly regarded.

click here for Aidan Bradley's photos

Here are some samples.
Can you name the courses ? They are all in Ireland.

I know the first photo is Portstewart's 15th and the last is Rosses Point #3 (hole could be wrong, but course is correct).

Are all the photos on this site of such high quality?

Sean,

Click the link to see for yourself. I think yes, the photos are of very high quality. And, there are lots of them, of many courses that I know appeal to GCA types.

You are correct, except that it's the 4th at Rosses Point. A finalist in the list of great par 3s, and a final four pick of great par 3s without a bunker.

I have had some correspondance with Aidan. He takes very good photographs. A very nice guy too.

It looks like there is a bunker waiting to catch the dreaded topped shot in the first photo of Sand Hills.  I know you will claim that it isn't a bunker because ( I assume ) one can ground his club.  I say an up n down from there is a sandy.  That pays 50 pence!

Neil - Sean beat me to it - the first picture is my beloved Portstewart #15, a great par 3.  All 5 of those bunkers are to be avoided at all costs!  If you look closely enough you can almost see Castlerock in the background across the River Bann.

The second photo looks like #4 at the Valley Course at Portrush - am I correct ???

Thanks, Neil.  Makes me want to get on the ferry to Ireland tonight!

PS--can you photoshop those horrible trees out of the Winged Foot picture, please.  It really looks out of place amongst the other gems on this thread.
