The "Big World Theory of Golf" in action...
« on: August 08, 2005, 04:32:53 PM »
You need a login to see this, but like the Bizzaro episode on Seinfeld, I think this would qualify as the Bizzaro version of a GCA outing.

GCA World
=========
The course is usually rated by some magazine
The course usually has hairy bunkers
The architect is somewhat (or quite) well-known
Walking is the frequent mode of travel
Hickories are often applauded
Waterfalls are universally outlawed

Bizzaro GCA World
===============
Checking out other players sticks is a highlight of the event
Pictures of cart-paths are encouraged...no PhotoShop here!
Carts are mandatory
Waterfalls make pretty pictures
Clubhouse beverage of choice....not an adult beverage

Brian -

You forgot the mandatory Staff Bag, preferrably the Tour Edition ... ;)

That outing was pretty good, but it didn't seem to hold a candle to this outing.  I'm thinking about making it the blueprint for Dixie Cup II....
http://www.bombsquadgolf.com/invboard_release/upload/index.php?showtopic=76199&hl=michigan+outing

Agenda would be as follows:

8am - Arrive at the course
8:15am - Finished selecting which clubs to take to the practice range
8:30am - Finish loading the tour bag onto the cart
8:45am - Get a Dozen ProV1x from the ProShop...I'm still pissed my gross of Tour Quality ProV1s didn't arrive from SuperSecretTourGear.com
9am - Meet up with the group on the range
10am - Finish checking out other guys clubs/bag/shoes/shirts/balls
10:15am - Bang a few drivers out there....ok, I'm loose, let's go play
10:30am - Ready to go from the back tees.
11:30am - Damn that cart girl is hot!!  Hope she continues to come around every two holes.
12:30pm - Just two more holes until lunch!!  I'm +3 right now, but I'm pounding the crap out of the driver.  Probably should pick up a new Futura for the back nine since this Cameron ain't working today.
1:30pm - Yahoo...a 3 dog, 6 beer lunch!!  Just hope I don't drive the cart into a bunker.
2:30pm - 13th hole, 336yd Par4 - What the f*ck...no bunkers and I'm between Driver and 3w....who the hell designed this hole?
4pm - I wonder if anyone else is using this SuperSlick SPF 15 sunblock, it's working like a champ.  I'll send out a BSG post tomorrow.
6pm - 84 with 4 three jacks.  But at least I had the right trajectory with the driver today.

This reminds me of the day Sweeney & I played Mountain Lake.  ;)

Can we get some of those smileys?

Pete,

I have had my butt kicked by a number of people here at GCA including you, but those Bombsquad guys really smoked me (except for #18 @ Yale, their heads are still spinning on that one)!
