Tiger has toooooo many shots--Sorry guys
« on: April 09, 2005, 11:10:39 PM »
Demarco is hanging on. Watch his driver let him down and he stops making long putts. Tiger  is in control; he loses only if he screws up( oh sorry, he already has). I can't understand the Tiger bashers; he simply is the best since Jack.

Mike, there is a long way to go.  Tiger does look good, but Bjorn and Dimarco aren't chumps.  It should be a great Sunday.

Its just as likely that the Tiger who played Thursday shows up tomorrow as the guy who was playing today.  Everyone out there knows he's not the invulnerable golfing machine he appeared to be for a time in '97 and '00, so I don't see them backing down or folding due to fear or Tiger like they used to.  They know he's beatable now.

Tigers championship - Im with Mike  8)

His incredibly poor form (apparently) sees him sitting in 2nd place.

When they go to bed tonight - who is going to be feeling nervous?  Dimarco knowing that one of the greatest players that has ever lived and 3 time champion is in 2nd place and ready to eat him up, or Woods, trailing by 4, knowing that there is only one man above him?  and one of the finest exponents of hunting people down - as like the legendary JN.

DiMarco's been in contention in majors way tooo long for him to simply fold up anymore.

He's due.

Does the 41 count as folding?  ;)  Let's hope he comes back with a fight this afternoon.

I'll probably eat my words but I don't see Tiger losing.  With his ability to focus and on this morning's momentum and a 3-shot lead, well as Andrew Beyer was once quoted, "that horse is a mortal lock"!

Yeah, I've got to agree now.  Its possible someone could come from behind and beat him, if it were Mickelson or Vijay was that 3 or 4 behind him, but not the guys who are.  Tiger certainly won't lose it, he'll shoot a 68 or 69 and walk it in.

Phil's 6 shots back.  If you are Bones do you tell him to just let it all hang out and not even think about playing conservative?  Like everyone else has said, you cannot imagine Tiger coming back to the field.  It would be fun to watch Phil and Vijay just taking dead aim on some of those holes.

You also have to wonder if they are going to set the flags in places where those guys can go low just to see some excitement.  Move the tee boxes up on some and really make this interesting.

Vijay paired with Phil?  Man I'll bet there won't be many verbal exchanges between them today!

First hole just completed.  Tiger birdies, Chris misses a very makeable bird. Very tentative putting stroke.  Seems like he may be folding early, in contention often or not ;) ;D
Giving Tiger 4 shots with 17 to go.  Don't think anyone can catch him.

After nine holes, DiMarco was INSIDE of Woods after their approaches on eight of them.

Putter is ice cold.

You might remember that DiMarco at least made the end of the World Match Play interesting a couple months ago when he began holing out everything as the match came to a close.  I wouldn't be surprised to see him make a few on the back nine and put the pressure on some more.

IS CHRIS MAKING A COMEBACK

After 10 holes down 2 strokes can DiMarco top Tiger.  Maybe the Masters really does begin on the back 9 on Sunday.  If DiMarco had been putting on the front nine he would probably be one stroke up at this point.
I predicted earlier no one could spot Woods 4 shots with 17 to play and beat him.  Could I be wrong?  ;)
If DiMarco does make the comeback it would be interesting that he began his move on 10.  The hole that began his unravelling this morning.

I would have bet the mortgage on Tiger this morning. I'm reminded as to why I don't sports bet any longer.

Was Tiger the first player to win the Masters without a collar?

i was hoping Tiger would say "thanks for the Green Jacket Hootie, and Dan Jenkins can kiss my butt". However, I suppose Tiger is above that.

I want to see Tigers's chip hitting the sprinkler on 17 but they didn't show it.

How often will Nike market the swoosh dropping into the cup on 16? Oh boy.

a tradition like no other............I expect these tee-shirts to be selling like hot cakes at my clubs.............what a disgrace!  :'(

DiMarco played great......Tiger choked it up on 17/18.........made a great birdie on #18

if Mickelson would have beat Singh......would have been great Masters!

Did anyone else notice how Woods completely ignored Mickelson during the green jacket presentation?  Not even a handshake or acknowledgement of his presence.

What a fantastic finish!

DiMarco taking him to the playoff and then Tiger sealing off the victory with a GREAT putt!

That was fun!! :) :)

What is a disgrace in this tournament?  So Tiger made 2 bogey's coming in.  What about the great chip on 16?
Chris DiMarco played his heart and could have and maybe should have won.  However don't forget the putts on 1, 3 and 9 that should have been made.  Nobody chokes in the Masters.  In the end the player who makes the most shots wins.
