You play EA Sports Tiger Woods 2005 on the pc constantly so that you can earn enough "money" to start designing your own course to play against Palmer, Ballesteros, etc., and it all makes sense to you!

- When you email a friend and type in "TOC, ANGC and P2" and he emails you back to say he doesn't know what in the hell you are talking about.

-  When you decline an invitation to play a new Rees Jones course because it will require you to drive 65 miles.

- When your wife points to a very famous professional golfer/architect on TV and asks "Tom Paul?"

...when you find yourself becoming jealous of how many more posts Tom Paul has than you.

...when your children start conversations with "Boy, that Tom Doak is sure something", just to get your attention.

...when your wife or fiance says in a sultry voice, "honey, are you ready to come upstairs?", and you find yourself saying, "just a minute dear", as you finish reading or typing another post you know is going to take 10.

This is a bit the converse because I just dodged a bullet with this subject but I knew I spend too much time on here after I stopped in at a tractor place because I need a new tractor out on the farm. The salesman asked me what I wanted with the tractor and I told him really all I'm gonna do with it is mow fields. He said; "Are you sure you don't want a bucket, because there's a lot of neat stuff you can do with a bucket like move earth."

My eyes lit up for a second and you know damn well what I was thinking, but thank God I had the presence of mind to tell that salesman;

"Nah, I really don't want to go there but I don't have enough time right now to tell you why!"

...When you kids can recognize GCA by that familar brown stripe down the left hand side from across the room, and shout to mom, "Its OK he's not working he's on that golf thing again!!!!!"

By the way what is that brown stuff down the left hand side supposed to be anyway some kind of pseudo-wood grain???  Marble pattern???  What exactly?

Maybe its persimone (sp?).  Funny story... we had a young looper a few years ago and he asked my buddy "I have a question.  Why do they call them woods?"

Well,  my post count of nearly 1500 is one clue, even if it dates to Feb. 2000, when Ron Whitten tipped me off that he had taken some heat for using swear words in a "oblivious internet site" interview.....so that still averages close to one post a day.  Every time my post count gets close to a rounded milestone, I feel as if I should slow down.

A reminder came when I bought a laptop with the wireless internet card last year, feeling I couldn't wait to get back to the office for emails any longer.  My wife has said (often) the $1000 was a waste of money "just to look at golf course sites."
