How good? Does anyone have any photos. Is it on par with Winchester?

At least two aerials are in the archive along with some photographs.

Tight brilliant little routing using interesting water shapes to create some holes, elevation and angles for others and surprizigly good set of parallel holes on the mid stretch of the back nine.

Less than 100 acres well-used.  Unable to compare to Winchester.

Both are very good golf courses. Winchester is a much larger piece of property but Metacomet holds it's own on 87 acres.

Metacomet would fit right in on one of the new Sopranos episodes.......

dfrey,

Do you think that's an appropriate comment ?

If you think so, have the courage to post your home and work address.

I think it's an appropriate comment, Pat, because I love the Sopranos! I can hardly wait until 9 o'clock!

It's funny. Growing up my Dad used to always remark on how this club was a total "guys" establishment. His divorsed friends were all about this place. Aside from that, he said it is more enjoyable to play on a regular basis than Wannamoisett, the front side at Wannamoisett tends to overpower you (always the sensation that the round has somehow gotten away from you due to the brutality of the opening stretch. Is Metacomet really on a smaller piece of land than Wannamoisett??

P. Mucci,

I would be happy too.

And mentioning the Sopranos in the same sentence as Metacomet was not a knock.  I have played out there with members in my foursome that were packing more than irons and woods in their golf bag....if you know what I mean.

mtp,

Metacomet is probably a "sportier" golf course when compared to Wannamoissett, which starts off like a bear and could be deemed more difficult, but that doesn't mean that Metacomet isn't a good golf course, it is.

TEPaul,

Your comment and dfrey's comment were in entirely different contextes, one derogatory, the other entertaining.
Why does dfrey hide his email address ?

P. Mucci:

If you are claiming my post was anti-Italian....you are dead wrong.  I love Metacomet.....I love the Sopranos......what exactly was derogatory??????

Guess I'm stupid here.....still can't understand the problem.  I guess some are sensitive about certain things.
