I love Tom Petty's music.  And my wife went to school with his wife!  We did go to a concert -- at Red Rocks, it was awesome -- but I never got to meet him.

Oh, yes.
Heard/saw American Girl over here sometime around 76/77 and just LOVED it. Started following him, buying albums, posters, t-shirts, etc.
What a career. Years of fabulous stuff, great collaborations.
Gone seven years already. Very sadly missed.
