 8)  I have to give a shout out to Reddish Vale, made all the more pleasant by trekking/conversing with Duncan C....  starting off across the highlands, going down in the valley and then back up, then down to the river edged 1 shotter (after a couple of mis-launches), traversing the valley plain & corners, up along the ridge, rolling down and up a bit along the river's path and the final climb up 18 to the clubhouse and a refreshment with a grand view.

The sunshine, winds, rain, & sunshine as a front moved through made additional bonus memories on the walk...

The walk down the right path on the 5th at Portrush was my favorite short stretch ever. Surely thought Gene Kelly was going to pop out of the bushes at any moment!

if i were walking I'd prefer even fewer distractions than when I play
I haven't been to Rock Creek, and I'd guess the remoteness and expanse would both add to this likely great walk
peace

Mike -

You're correct.  Hard to beat Rock Creek for a beautiful, secluded and vigorous walk - with spectacular vistas.

My nomination from courses I have played; Chambers Bay. Probably has more people walking the property without playing golf than TOC. Also, its sea views top any links course I have been to.

Kebo Valley in the fall.  Beautiful mountain scenery in a secluded setting.
