A few items regarding these discussions:

First, one on the possibility of someone who has had the vaccines can still transmit the virus: https://www.bbc.com/future/article/20210203-why-vaccinated-people-may-still-be-able-to-spread-covid-19?xtor=ES-213-%5BBBC%20Features%20Newsletter%5D-2021February12-%5BFuture%7c+Button%5D

Second, the rules for visiting Scotland that take effect on Monday: https://www.gov.scot/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-public-health-checks-at-borders/pages/overview/

You’ll have to quarantine in one of a specific set of hotels for 10 days upon arrival.  Cost is £1750. https://quarantinehotelbookings.ctmportal.co.uk

I have a card completed at the time of the first vaccination that shows the product name and date of the vaccination.  We are required to present it at the time of the second vaccination to verify scheduling is for the correct after the minimum time has elapsed for the second vaccination.

There is a patient number assigned and written on the card.  There would be patient confidentiality issues related to using CDC information to cross-validate the card information with other external information for quality control for development of some kind of vaccination passport.

Given that monitored hotel quarantine requirements for entry are likely to be implemented in various countries, I am doubting much will open up in the way of tourism.

The regular occurrence of large super-spreader events here in the U.S. will likely offset some of the benefits of large scale vaccination.  We will know a lot more in the next few months with more consistent tracking of new cases on the state and county level here.

We should note that today's announcement applies only to England. Golf in Scotland is open, though only to locals.

I read today that the surge in Europe did not include the UK and Spain.

So the US is not on the "red List" which means you can enter England but must quarantine for 10 days.  The article talks about Scotland and there it looks like May 17 is a critical date.  Interestingly, I saw the countries with the big increases and Spain was not in that group.

The issue for me is not necessarily going to the UK, it is getting back to the country I am in, which presently states you need to spend 14 days in a 3rd country before entering. Same with going to the USA, so we shall see what happens, so it is dynamic and alot can happen between now and June.
