Tom Doak to Restore Dornick Hills
« on: November 04, 2020, 12:14:15 PM »

I put this at the bottom of an old Ran thread about Chris Clouser's  IMO about restoring Dornick Hills which is now going forward. Seems like a big deal --I am assuming its getting lost at the bottom of that thread.

I hope the club still has old photos of the original four holes which are something like 10-13. This is only an hour from the Dallas airport.

Of the original four holes, one was abandoned when Maxwell expanded the original layout to nine holes.  They have a lot of resource material I believe on the course.

Dornick Hills was worth seeing for the cliff hole alone, but having the course brought back to how it must have once looked and played is terrific news.

And something just feels right about keeping Mr. Maxwell's grave site on a top notch property. This is more than just a historic layout. Even with changes it is a very fun and challenging course. I wonder if the range change will be undone.
