King-Collins’ new 9 hole course in upstate NY

The King-Collins team is working a new 9 hole course in Accord, New York that was previously the Rondout Golf Course, a 55 acre mom-and-pop in need of an update.

I was there last week. The course is part of an upscale boutique resort. Only one hole corridor of the previous design is being used. It's extremely close to the Mohonk Mountain House Golf Course, 9-holes dating back to 1896.

I walked the course a couple of times with one of the owners,a Bridge member, in fall of 2017.-the second time with King and Collins present. The owner had "discovered" their design team in a NY Times article about Sweetens.
Ran into both of them at a diner afterward and had a great conversation.

Pretty piece of property-looking forward to seeing the finished product.


Interesting idea and a beautiful area.Seems New Yorker city people would do well to venture this way 90 minutes rather than crowding onto the LIE into The Hamptons every weekend.
