There is a cut off date. It's not carved in stone but panelists need to be able to see the courses in a reasonable time by the cut off date for the ballot submission of Labor Day. Some courses that would qualify by date would like to hold off a year to be considered. Some courses do not want to participate in the best new categories.

Or maybe we can pray to God that a great course like LACC doesn't accept unaccompanied rater play. Come on, with this new pay $1000 rate, skate or donate card why would they?

TPC Sawgrass changes #12 and regrasses greens and its considered a renovation. And wins. That will help sell magazines.

Don't they win that award every year?

Hopefully they're eligible for a restoration award soon...

The pics of the original TPC are incredible to me. So much scrub grass and true, sandy, waste areas.

Tony, any links to said pics?  They are difficult to find, seems the Tour wants to sweep them down the memory hole.
Don't play too much golf. Two rounds a day are plenty.

There's not seriously a best "remodel" and a best "renovation" ::) ::) ::) ::)
thus creating room for a future best "restoration"

I'm glad they are identifying the differences. Finally.

With that said, with the typos and various mistakes it makes you wonder how many people are actually working at Golf Digest?
