grasses: north and south

I've played a good bit in the Carolinas and Pennsylvania this spring and early summer. Obviously the grasses used on the golf courses are very different in those states. I like the new Champion grass on the greens and the common Bermuda in the fairways. The grass in Pennsylvania, however, is a much better playing surface. The fairways were a mix of bent and bluegrass. The rough was a mix of bluegrass and fescue. Some of the greens were bent but most were Poa. I might like the northern grass better because I grew up in the north or it might be because northern grasses are just better.
