Years ago (1980's) at Pasatiempo, the member's tee on #1 was atop the cart barn.
Behind where the present putting green is.

It was mowed at green height with several holes cut in it.
If I remember correctly there was a white steel fence around it,
with a panel removed in front of the tee markers.



That's correct.


Unfortunately, it hit over the cart path that went from the pro shop to the practice tee, so it was pretty dangerous.  When we started consulting there, I suggested they take it out and return the hole to its original 460-yard length -- which was a par-5 in 1929, but now makes it a par 4.  God that was a long meeting ... there were about 100 members who had to weigh in on the subject!
