Width, angles, humps, bumps, native areas, short grass around bunkers and fairways? Looks like it could be firmer, not sure how much that has to do with nature versus man. Fun watching.

I'm guessing it looks much cooler on the ground.
Looks like a perfect challenge for the modern pro golfer while remaining fun to play for the rest.

You may want to wait until the World Cup at Kingston Heath in November before you award the medal.

Oh how fickle the golfer is.  Augusta knocks the crap outta this place....practically every year its the coolest course we see on tv.

The fact that the grass was closely cut everywhere was great. No bomb and gouge. On 18 the balls almost ran into trouble.

Much more strategic.

Please, please, please let's not promote courses built on flat land. The course was as good as it could have been given the land its purpose but it wasn't even the best course on TV this week. The course is Rustic Canyon good.

Clearly a terrific architectural effort.  The course had a lot of natural ebb and flow.  Would be an amazing match play course.  Remember, though, that it needs to accommodate recreational golfers later.  Very hard to have a playable course for mediocre players and a dramatic challenge for the pros.  They clearly pulled it off.  The only issue is softness.  Not sure if that is the types of grasses or simply a concern about losing the course before the ladies play starting Wednesday.

Riviera would like a word.
The only way of really finding out a man's true character is to play golf with him. In no other walk of life does the cloven hoof so quickly display itself.
