AllStar Golf

Seems like this is a TopGolf competitor concept, but I found it interesting that the facility will be surrounded by two existing courses.  I wonder if there will be a partnership or affiliation of some kind.

From the Atlanta Business Chronicle:

"An Atlanta-based golf club management company is proposing a $27 million golf and entertainment complex on Windy Hill Road in the Smyrna area.

Developers proposed the project during a Tuesday work session of the Cobb Board of Commissioners, reports Marietta Daily Journal.

If the project moves forward, AllStar Golf would be a three-story, 61,000-square-foot building with 102 driving range bays and a $1 million camera and radar ball tracking system that allow for a variety of games to be played, the paper reports.

Developers want to also include a corporate and special event meeting room and a restaurant. The project would be surrounded by the 36 holes of the Legacy and Fox Creek courses, developers added.

Gonna Fly Now LLC wants to develop and own the facility, the MDJ said.

The complex would be managed by Mosaic Clubs & Resorts, the paper reports.

Various permits would be required before the project could move forward."

Let's hope it doesn't require giant nets.

Legacy and Fox Creek are both executive courses I think.  The real asset is the new Braves stadium which is being built right now.

We as golfers owe it to our legacy of this once great and noble game to defeat these high fenced electronic monstrosities. TopGolf is the sloppy party bottom to all that is sacred to what we once cherished.

TopGolf is not inexpensive, no? The one I encountered (Houston area) was priced so far out of my financial sphere, but I understand that there are so many people living in that region with money to light the money they burn, that perhaps it merits not even a first or second thought.

Are we fools to think that the wealthy and the middle can interact over a similar golf property?

We have a TopGolf in the northern suburbs of Atlanta.  They charge around $50 per bay/per hour at peak times (as low as $35 in off-peak).  Bays can accommodate 8 people, but assuming you brought 4 people that is 12.50/hour/person.  Not too bad when you compare it to something like bowling, which is probably similar in cost per hour.

I still haven't been to TopGolf (I prefer the real thing)but I've heard the food is good and that it is a fun time for people of all levels of play.

I actually LOLed at this one.

TopGolf Cincinnati opens on July 29. I'll post a photo tour when I visit for the first time.

I figured he needed to lay off the fermented and distilled grain (the best example being his desire in another thread to urinate in others' mouths...that's entirely normal), but this is much better.

TopGolf is coming to Nashville.  At least the wine group  ::) can go there instead of the stupid escape game although I try to be sick those days.
