I must be missing something. The courses in California, not including Rustic or Spanos, are not new. Willow Park is anything but new so I don't know it is even mentioned in regards to building affordable, practical courses.
Likewise, Blackberry Farms, Deep Cliff, Pruneridge, etc. are also not new. I would state that these courses would never be built today in those locations and don't see how those are a model for builidng affordable, practical courses.
The most recent models in the Bay Area would have to be Poppy Ridge, Metropolitan Golf Course and maybe Harding Park, and only Poppy Hills had to pay for the land ...
