Yay for Clyde.  He's about the fourth intern we've had to win the prize.

If only I could get him a visa to work over here ...

I think the drawing is well done but it looks like for the 2nd time in a row someone won without drawing the section view per the instructions of the contest.

It also mentions this:

"What kind of design should be submitted? The competition will be restricted to the design of a
proposed (not existing) "One shot," par-three hole. The design should be in the form of an
elaborated sketch giving the viewer a clear idea of how the hole would be constructed and
played. It should show yardages, tee locations, alternative playing routes, hazards, bunkers,
green location and contours with alternative pin placements, and side elevation of the terrain."

I thought the Lido was for amateurs only.  If they work for TD, they are no longer amateurs.

Clyde is no amateur, but there is nothing in the rules of the contest about that.  (See link in the first post.)

Nor should there be such a rule, since MacKenzie was not an amateur when he won the original prize in 1914 ... he already had a couple of solo designs to his credit by then.

Congrats to Clyde.
Love the way he laid the green's outline onto the ground. Seems like most people who sketch a hole feel like the mowing line has to follow a contour line and it's nice to see a drawing where the land form is the focus instead of bunkers or mowing lines.
