Every year, Leven hosts the Standard Life Amateur Champion Gold Medal, the oldest amateur stroke play event in the world. Whilst hosting a marvellous day there today with the very creme de la creme of GCA society, we were perusing the big board of the names of past winners. Imagine our surprise when, in at 1893, we spotted a certain fellow much beloved around here.

I wonder how many of the recent winners realise what illustrious company they're in?

Nice moment.
