Best Courses You Ain't Done Seen: Golf Magazine perspective

This reads a lot like GCA:

EDIT: As I attempted to confirm its photo of Gleneagles this am, 5:30 EST USA, golf.com was uploading its new site and this piece may be gone.

Nice to see Wilderness at Fortune Bay on the list.....I think.  Never quite sure about being a "best kept secret."

They get good play, but a little publicity never hurts.

Has anyone ever posted a photo tour of Belvedere on here?  I couldn't find one.  It's on my hit list for 2015, and I would love to get a sneak preview.

Note that the photo alongside the write up of Gleneagles in San Francisco is not a photo of that course. It might be a photo of Gleneagles in Scotland. ;)

I've played eight of them.  They are all worth a visit except Makai.  My wife and I played about seven holes and walked off.  It may be one of the most boring courses I have ever played. We went back to the Prince and were much happier.

I think I'm the only one on here who actually liked Makai. Thought it was better than the Prince, which, with it's 10 miles of cart path, was on waay too severe a property and got far too penal on way too many of the holes. Found the 5th, 7th, and 14th on the Makai to be good holes. Not a world beater by any means though, and would not advise anyone to go out of their way to play it.

Who are the idiot editors that let them print the wrong course picture?

I like the Makai quite a lot too, though it's a bit of a Jeckyll and Hyde course. Really good holes out on the coast and on that side of the road. Everything on the inland side of the road tends toward either just forgettable or kind of bad.

I think this course was greatly improved by the renovation a few years back, so those who played it prior to 2010 saw a pretty different animal.
