I'm sure all of you will spend many pages lambasting all the characters involved, so go ahead and "talk amongst yourselves!"

Steve I prefer when you post positive things here.

It certainly is a combination that would make a few heads explode.

Hiring C&C does not make one a connoisseur any more.
There are a number of reasons to hire them, aside from how good of a golf course they can build.

Cheers

1) I was being a wee bit facetious!  ;D....But isn't true that some posters on this site criticize Trump without ever have met the man or first hand experienced his golf properties...just saying? Regardless, you are right and I will change "all" to "some." Fair enough.

2) Certainly a potential for spontaneous combustion....save for the civility that Bill & Ben bring to the table.

3) True, but it's a start!

4) Besides the opportunity to work with fine gentlemen, what would those be?

Besides building great courses and being fine gentlemen, they are now famous too.
The list of those who interviewed for the job would be telling.

If the above mentioned team has firmly established their integrity and professional independence, why does the owner's background matter?

Steve:

The owner's background ALWAYS matters to the success of a project.  And it's important for architect and client to have a good relationship.  [Want proof?  See if you can name a great golf course where they didn't.]  That's true whether the client is Donald Trump or Mike Keiser or anyone else.

It would be better to ask whether anyone here has ANY real insight into the relationship between architect and client in this instance.  If not, there's no point in them speculating on it.

Agree with Tom.

Interesting to see how Trump will get along with Hanse and C&C given that he so far has mostly seems to have worked with architects who who took orders from him or else would risk being FIRED......

"I've never seen a piece of land as good as this," said Eric Trump.

That sounds familiar...  Eric must never have visited the Trump International Scotland site...

Regardless of the Trump superlatives, this sounds like an exciting project!

I just can't reconcile what I know of Ben Crenshaw with Mr. Trump's hyperbole.

Wade's last post here is even more appropriate now than it was several years ago.  However, I ran across this looking for something else and am more than curious......  Has there been any movement/progress I hadn't heard?
