An earlier thread was the victim of the GCA Great Hardware Malfunction. Hence, I will start it again.
A very prominent golf writer in the early 20's for the Brooklyn Daily Eagle was William Hicks. If you've surfed the Fulton History site, undoubtedly you know of him. In fact, I have reason to believe he wrote for many years before that unbylined.
He 'disappeared' from the BDE in mid 1922 but by sheer luck, I was able to determine he moved to the Brooklyn Times. Only two libraries that I'm aware of carry the BT and they have not digitized the material nor loan it out to other libraries. So, a few years ago I made the trip to the Brooklyn Public Library to grab some of his work. He wrote just about every day for the paper. I obtained from the scanners about 4 months total of his work from late 1922 until early 1923. Some of the stuff is just fluff, but there is some good material there as well. Perhaps you would like to wade through it.
