Crazy small world story.  "Q" lived down the block from the house I grew up in and my sister babysat his kids.

And I caddied for him (Q) in 1998 or 99 when he made a hole-in-one on #3 at Pine Valley. Fun guy to be on the golf course with.

Adam must have been inspired by walking NGLA on Sunday at the Walker Cup.

Thank you Ed, makes me like the guy a lot more.

Can anyone else post an example of a Professional showing himself to be a fan of Golf?

(Am I being naïve, was there any 'duty' for him to be there?)

Did anyone get a photo?
Let's make GCA grate again!

My gut instinct: yes, there was a reason not related to his love of classic architecture / the amateur game. I have no idea, though.

Tony: others I can think of that are really into it are: Ogilvy and Ben Crenshaw - running out of ideas after that...

You beat me to it. Those are the only two I could think of as well.

I didn't take a photo. I did walk over closer to him to make sure I wasn't dreaming. He was there with a girlfriend and another friend and I'm pretty sure I saw Steve Williams too. I would assume they were staying in the area and they came out to take a look around. There was certainly no official entourage that I would expect to see if it were a "duty". I was going to congratulate him on winning the Masters, but he was clearly having personal time and I didn't want to interfere. When I saw him he was next to the Alps green and watching play on the Redan.
Anyone know what day he played Shinnecock?

He now moves to the top of my list of favorite golfers.
