Here is that back tee on the 9th hole at Bel Air CC that David Bartman mentioned earlier.

The 5th tee/4th green at Rockaway Hunting Club may deserve honorable mention on this one.

The line for the tee shot on the par 3 fifth (medium -  short iron depending on the breeze) is just to the right of the back of the fourth green.  It does take one awful chunked snap hook for the middle of the fourth green to be in the way.  However, a pulled tee shot towards the left bunker - which is the bail out shot away from the OB - does cross the back fringe of the fourth green.

However, the honorable mention is deserved because 1) it has happened and, most importantly 2) players on the fourth green ALWAYS stop play and step aside to wait for the fifth tee to clear.

Better safe than sorry (or distracted).

In Cork GC, the first plays across the start of the 15th fairway, the back tee at the 2nd plays over the 17th tee, the 11th tee shot is over the 10th green, the 15th tee shot is over the 14th green and the start of the 1st fairway.

Here's the tee shot on 11 over the 10th green

The ideal line off Somerset Hills's 1st tee aims you right over it's 3rd green.

Steve,

Unless its down wind, that's a pretty risky line.

Agreed, thats a huge carry and the apple orchard is not a friendly place if you dont pull the shot off.

Also, Stonewall's new course has an optional tee on the 15th hole that hits over the front of the 14th green if I'm remembering correctly.

Mark

The apple orchard is to the left (or North) of the 3rd green. The back left of the third green on a straight line requires 215 to carry the green and another 25 to carry the rough... not the scary carry you both describe. I walked it off there recently and most big hitters are now taking it just inside the remaining trees that appear behind the front right corner of the 3rd. Many trees continue to be removed at SHCC opening up the lines of play.

The tees are elevated a bit, but Meadow Club #4 and Cruden Bay #16 tee off over the preceding greens.

Our opponents at The Rota picked a tee shot for the par 3 11th @ Ballyneal, from just left of the 10th green.

13 checker tee at The Bridge plays over 12 green
6 Black tee plays over 5 green

Both tees inspired by playing from same areas we used to play in evening rounds when not wanting to walk to remote tee

This is pretty common in the UK.  Heck, Royal Worlington & Newmarket does it at least three times in nine holes ... you tee off over #2 green for the third, over #4 green for the fifth, and over #5 green for the sixth.

As Tom and Adam mention its pretty common in the UK and not always over the preceeding green!.

Another of note is Whittington Heath, a decent Colt course near Lichfield...
1 tees off over 18
3 tees off over 2
6 tees off over the edge of 3
14 tees off over 16

Cheers,

James

At Doonbeg the tee shot on the 6th hole is played over the 13th green.
