I asked friend
"If you are staying in town, I'd go for these...
For Fish -
http://www.bistroverde.co.uk/ - Bistro Verde my favourite Fish place in town. They will also have a steak and a chicken dish for not fish fans.
Seafood - Silver Darling
http://thesilverdarling.co.uk/ it's good but I think slightly overrated and quite pricey. Very good location at the beach / harbour for the summer months.
French - very authentic and top quality without being too expensive - Cafe Boheme
http://www.cafebohemerestaurant.co.uk/ one of the best steaks you'll get in town.
Indian - Monsoona - claims to be a "healthy" Indian, very tasty and a good and varied choicehttp://www.monsoona.co.uk/
The Marclife at Pitfoelds - great hotel restaurant widely regarded as one of the best in town - also very expensive but good food and wine list. A little out of town, say 5-10mins.
If you don't mind a longer drive or are staying in land or a bit further North, then check out Meldrum House Hotel - Grampian Restaurant of the year for the last 2 years (and where I got married to Mrs S), or Eat on the Green a couple of AA Rosettes to its name."
