Canada Top 40 Classic by Golfweek

I like this list. I'm happy for Ian Andrew, whose work at Cherry Hill (Ridgeway, Ontario) elevated the club into the top 40. Now, if Golfweek could only spell the club's name correctly, all would be well. Great to see Lookout Point on the verge of top-tenning itself. Stellar company, indeed.

That move by Highlands Links (from 3 to 7) is just nonsense.

Lambton is now a Rees Jones designed golf course.  Should be on the modern list.

Still love the respect that Lookout, Kawartha, Essex get on this list and basically no other.  Ditto Cherry Hill.

I enjoyed the love for some great courses that are usually overlooked and prefer this to Score in Canada.
But someone has to check facts before you publish it.

Complete Rebuilds
Royal Montreal Blue
Lambton
Algonquin
Manior Richleau

There is nothing left of any of these original courses.
These are modern courses.

Built in 1988
Radium Resort

Wow, I've worked on 24 of the 40 courses on that list at some point.

Interesting to also see Burlington, it's not often on these lists.

Ian, can you talk at all about Niakwa?  I've never heard of it.  Have you been up there?

I used to work there on behalf of Doug Carrick.

The horn is pretty good and the holes with the small valleys are interesting, but it would not stand out in Ontario
The lake holes are disappointing, done for drainage decades ago, just doesn't fit the rest of the course.

This picture shows some of my work and how flat most of the course is.
I thought this turned out pretty good and was pretty happy with the start of this project.
