Well, I am glad I started this thread and am interested in making a road trip to see the course.

Neal and Gib, thanks very much for your detailed and informative input (and Mike B. thanks for posting Neal's pics).

It is great to see how a course can be improved by removing some trees and rebuilding/realigning the bunkers.

How long were holes out of play? Did you use temporary greens?

The coincidence and serendipity I encounter in golf never ceases to amaze me. The only reason I started this thread, aside from having once played SLO CC 20 years ago, was that I was paired with a fellow at Harding Park 2 weeks ago who happened to be a member there and happened to mention that bunker work was being done on the course. Prior to my post, I don't think I had ever seen SLO CC mentioned or discussed on this board.

Not only does someone on this chat board happen to know what is being done at SLO CC, the people who are doing the work are fellow GCA-ers and are kind enough to give of the inside scoop on the work being done. Thanks guys!

I do not recal this thread last year... weird, I know... but was working my way through the Central Coast yesterday and kinda drove past SLOCC, so I decided to drive over and take a peek from the parking lot.  Could tell some work had been done recently and was curious what and by whom, and of course i knew just where to turn to find out.  Lo and behold, as David said above, the serendipity is pretty cool.

Would love to know how the course is being played and received a year later?  Any further modifications/work being done by Neal and Gib?  Any additional photos worthy of posting?

Many thanks?
