I was putting with my belly putter yesterday. I stood over the ball, anchored it into my tum-tum, then pushed it an inch away for separation and guess what? It felt the same.

Hence the fallacy of banning a technique.
I actually use the forearm anchoring drill to teach putting(works better crosshanded with a conventional length putter), and a few have ended up putting with that grip with a conventional putter

I was wondering why that stroke was kept legal. I guess you still have to swing your arms and, perhaps more importantly, it's too hard to determine when it's braced against the arm and when it's not.
