The SOWF Golf Tournament
« on: August 02, 2012, 09:52:45 AM »
One of my best friends is putting on this tournament which provides full scholarship grants to surviving children of Special Operations personnel. It's being held on September 7th at the Country Club of North Carolina. Obviously, it is a worthy cause - and they handle the revenue properly.
I don't really get too worked up about many things. I can't say that is the case when I see those children who don't have a Dad anymore.
So anyway, if you know someone who might be able to make it would be a worthwhile thing for you to send them the info.
Thanks so much.

I thought this deserved a bump... I can't get there that day but am sending a donation.

On a side note, is there much discussion down there as to how the new greens at Pinehurst #1 and CCNC Cardinal are progressing?

Thanks for all the Pinehurst info you provide us!

Hi Hart, nice to hear from you.
I haven't heard much about the the new No. 1 or CCNC-Cardinal greens yet. I can't imagine they wouldn't turn out very well though. There are a lot of skilled and knowledgeable people in that field these days. I'm not sure they get the credit they deserve. Probably not.
I have heard very positive things about the new bermuda greens at Legacy - and I thoroughly enjoyed playing the new ones at Hyland. National (Nicklaus) is also changing to these grasses. So this is the current trend - and a good one. The old bermuda greens weren't so appreciated - but these new ones are well received. In fact, I don't think I've heard a single negative thing about the matter yet.

Hart, I forgot to thank you for donating to the SOWF. Bad form on my part - sorry. That was very kind of you and it is certainly appreciated.
I thought you might like to see one of the children you will be helping to send to college:

Her father Aaron was a friend of mine. You would have liked him very much.
