My most enduring memory of Pete was the ~2001 ride in his truck through the undulating scrubland adjacent to the course, showing me where the new 9 was going to be.  I don't think that the new nine was ever built, but I would like to think otherwise-it would have been some great golf.  Pete was and is a prince of our noble sport.

I just saw this thread.  If Pete is looking in (which I believe he does from time to time) good luck back in USNY.  I remember when Pete did a nice photo course thread on Mark Twain GC that he knew well from his yute.  One of the best experiences I had in the early days of Bravenet discussion group was getting out to Cali and spending some time with Pete at HMB about 3 years after grow-in.  At that time Pete had a very bad hip that finally he got the surgery on.  But, he still played quite well.  He was at many of the early KPs and brought a great deal of knowledge to share with the group on the real story about turf, and managing it in Cali.

I.M. me if you see this Pete.  I'd really like to know your next step and where.  Great to hear Conner is a young man now, and maybe off to school or make his way.

No actual golf rounds were ruined or delayed, nor golf rules broken, in the taking of any photographs that may be displayed by the above forum user.

I spoke with Pete just a week ago and he said he was moving to Up State New York.

Bob,

It was was a great privilege to spend some time with Pete last year.  Thanks for organizing.

All the best for the future, Pete.

Pete,
Happy retirement wishes to you. If you see this shoot me an IM. Upstate NY (Plattsburgh)  is where I grew up and the next time I get up that way I would like to say hi. All the best.
