Here's a link to a short blog item I posted. According to the Brooklyn Daily Eagle, Engineers and St. George's were opened to golfers on June 27, 1917. I wonder if there are other examples of such well regarded courses, so close together, sharing the same birthday.

Engineers and St. Georges are the respective golf architects' best designs?

I have little knowledge of the precise dates courses opened, but two well regarded courses, independent clubs, opening the same day, in relatively close proximity to one another, has to be rare, but who knows. I believe the two course at Baltusrol and Winged Foot opened the same day, but that is a little different situation.
