1919: Atlantic Club

I've run into a blurb about a seaside course called the Atlantic Club from a NY newspaper in 1919.  I've searched the archives but have found no mention of this club.  Any further info would be appreciated.

Joe,
I ran across this club (Northfield, NJ) when looking for some Travis articles, but they mainly dealt with tournaments. It seemed like a popular place to hold events.

Jim, right as I was about to reply to my own post, it dawned on me this blurb probably did mean "Atlantic City Country Club".

I've seen a 1919 article from the Philiadelphia Inquirer where ACCC was referred to as "Atlantic Club."  The blurb concerned the possible addition of a second 18 and an airfield. Was this the topic of the mention you found?

ACC credits themselves as the place where the terms "Birdie" and "Eagle" were originated.

"The Birth of the Birdie" is the name of the book covering the 1st 100 years of ACCC.  I have a copy of the it (available at the pro shop), and just recently noticed the book is available in electronic form at Pete Trenham's web site:

This is something really good, IMO.  Not to be missed.
