Thanks Jason.

My situation is such that I can do golf trips as long as my son is with me. He's 11 and we've been doing it for a couple of years now. We don't run across any kids at the golf course, so a parent-child event would make it even more fun for him (other kids).

Not sure kids and cga go together, but it's what crossed my mind after reading your post.

I will bump this one again to see if we can get more interest in an initial get together.  If a weekend works better at a later date or location, I am more than open to that.

I think there is potential for some GCA exploring, interest and learning to be had in our tri-state region.

I will be unable to make it down on April 28th.  Hopefully, I will have better luck on future gatherings.

Can't pass on a barbecue comment.  Arthur Bryant's is the single most disappointing reknowned barbecue joint I've visited.  The burnt ends at Fiorella's Jack Stacks were outstanding, though other items were average.

MH,

I have always felt the same way about Arthur Bryants.  Kind of living on its rep since I have been familiar with it, but then, I am no foodie.

Jason,

I can make April 28th in Lawrence work. Hope we can get some folks together for a round.

I've spend a fair amount of time on Mass Street and even ventured into Allen Fieldhouse on occasion... and none of my friends have disowned me yet. Thanks for working on organizing this and good luck to your Jayhawks this weekend.

Daryn,

Glad you can make it. Even if we can only get a few guys together I still think it would be a good time. We don't go too hard on guys that wear purple. It's the ones wearing black and gold that we don't care for too much!

Honestly, I think we are off to a fairly good start.  I appreciate Brandon hosting this initial get together and I am pleased that a couple of guys from Nebraska are interested as well.  I think if we broaden our scope to include Nebraska, it opens the doors to close region that is a little different from the standpoint of topography, designers and some of the other topics/courses we speak of on this board.  As I mentioned earlier, I spent quite a bit of time there and in the sand hills where I met a few other guys on this site from different regions of the country.

And I think it would be fun to have them come down here as well to help us explore and learn in our own back yard.  Steve, I am in the same boat at times with the goobers, I don’t get a lot of golf trips anymore since I travel during the week.  My boys are 6 and 4 and are signed up for Jr. golf at my local club and I cannot wait to spend more time with them in the future.  My golf game has become horrid, but I love playing and being out there with them.

Brandon, Daryn and anyone else, what time works best for you on the 28th, is 2pm OK?    We can work on future dates afterwards.  Again, everyone else is welcome to join the 3 of us.

Jason,

2PM works great for me on the 28th.

I am in the same boat with the kids. My 10 year old has just started playing and I enjoy carrying his bag and watching just as much as I do playing my own ball.

So we have just the three of us, correct?

2pm on the 28th works for me as well. I haven't played LCC since the latest work was done there but have heard many good things. Thanks for hosting us Brandon. Looking forward to it.

Yes, and for the record you are either with us or against us!!

I will post a reminder closer to the 28th for everyone.

Thanks again Brandon.
