Golf at Merion.
« on: November 09, 2011, 10:27:06 PM »
For those of you who like to collect "club" books or histories, Merion has recently published a nice book, "Golf at Merion"

I would recommend it as an addition to your library.

Is it available to buy online or do you have to through the club?

Golf at Merion was written by Desmond Tolhurst years ago.

Miracle at Merion is a newer book:

There's a new historical in the works in time for the upcoming open at Merion.  Maybe this is the version Patrick is referring to.
“One natural hazard, however, which is more
or less of a nuisance, is water. Water hazards
absolutely prohibit the recovery shot, perhaps
the best shot in the game.” —William Flynn, golf
course architect

Patrick,

Jeff Silverman is writing that book and it will be on the market in 2013, just in time for the US Open.

And it will be real good.  I'm very confident of that.

Come on, Mr. Tight Lipped Scientist - spill your guts, tell us what you know, post a few pages of the excerpts you no doubt have squirreled away on that super-scientific titanium computer you have in the basement...

Nope...Pat is just learning how to read! Electricity might be a new concept for Mucci, but he knows a good picture book when he sees it!!
