;D ;D ;D ;D

Love those Bayou Bengals!  The entire BCS "system" is in disarray and we can thank JB's beloved LSU Tigers.  Damn that was a great win. I was watching and talking about you most definitely, John.  Must have been incredible to be there.

On a "different" note, my beloved alma mater won our first Division I soccer championship this weekend as the Lady Broncos of SANTA CLARA UNIVERSITY triumphed 3-2 over Florida in the semis and then 1-0 over previously unbeaten North Carolina in the final.  Hey, for our little school this is one hell of an accomplishment.

Now as for the 16th at BD, Gib's suggested changes are fine, but I still want a par 3 there!

Gib, You are right. The Jack comment was a low blow and I for that I am very sorry. I could not think of anyone else who would bypass a great natural hole for dirt moving purposes. It would cost Sand Hill type money to do what I havein mind though. The site is ready just bring in the green mix and lets play. Actually, your ideas are great and would result in good holes. i just feel 16 and 17 are laying there waiting to be seen and all one needs is a green and a new tee with some additional fairway grown in.

Tom, It was a great night to be an LSU tiger. It was like my beloved Charlie Mac saw a game from above that would make his heart soar. Guys coming off the bench to make big plays and play good ole fashion smash mouth, may the tougest team win, football. The BCS is horrible and we need a playoff in the worst way. 16 teams and let the bowls sites be a part of it. Congrats on the womens soccer W and a national crown is always a great thing.

If Nebraska in the championship game doesn't prove how badly a playoff is needed, than nothing will.

And I just remembered where the Sugar Bowl is... oh my God, look out New Orleans, here come the Tigers! I assume ye shall be there... man will that be fun.

Cheers!

yes my huckster, there will be more tigers in the quarter than capone had gangsters in chicago. getting the hotel and tickets lined up today. I do feel bad about comparing gib's idea to a jack option. We artists types can be a little too dramatic sometimes lol

It IS a 1 shotter AFTER you hit your tee shot.

Tom H, Congrats on Santa Clara victory over North Carolina.  NC beat my U of Portland girls the game before and I was disappointed we didn't get to have a showdown.   SC beat a great team.   BRONCOS VS PILOTS in 2002.  Anybody know Vince McMann's number? (The obnoxious WWF promoter)

Fiesta Bowl - Oregon vs Colorado will be the FUN game to watch.

Slag, you probably know this, but your U. of Portland and my beloved Santa Clara are fierce soccer rivals both on the men's and women's sides... pretty cool we're both in the same league, and so damn tough also on a national scale.

SCU did beat Portland this year, 2-1... these teams always have great battles.

Thanks for the kudos in any case!

Now re 16, yeah, downwind its a one-shotter... from nowhere usually!

No doubt, wind is everything here.  In the summer, leave the driver in the bag.  3 Iron should be enough to carry over the right center of gorse divider.  Believe it or not I have seen a 3-Wood go over this green and onto the 17th tee!

The line down the left side really becomes guess work.  I have seen more people go over the mound on the left side when taking that line than actually find the fairway.  They always take too much club.

Obviously the greenside bunker was intended to imitate the Road Hole.  The only place to miss this green and have a realistic shot at up and down is short of the green.

I absolutely agree that in order to make this hole strategically live up to its setting would be to top dress the red sandstone with sand/seed, short and right of the green.  This would reward the bold drive with the optimal angle into the green.  Truly a nail biting prospect as you try to bring your score into the house.
