#4 - I'd say the dell hole at Erin Hills, but there are too many trees around, doesn't look right.

Is there really a course being planned for out there?  Oh baby, they could sure build a stunner out there, of course they would have to bring a bunch of dirt in.  Perhaps when they rip up all the old concrete they could use it to make the base for the containment mounds between holes.   ;D  ;D

The golf course connection re #6 is that that is where the long-planned Kyle Phillips course is going to go?

Yes, it is the site of Alameda Point, a huge development that, with the economic uncertainty has not been moving as fast as expected.

Kyle Phillips has Alameda Point Golf Links on his website as a project although I can't see to verify if much progress has been made.

Earlier this month, there was an article in a local rag where the developer is seeking a financial partner.

BizJournal article on Alameda Point

SunCal wants partner for Alameda Point
East Bay Business Times - by Jessica Saunders Staff reporter

Friday, September 5, 2008

SunCal Cos., the second master developer at Alameda Point, is asking the city for permission to bring on a financial partner.

East Coast hedge fund D.E. Shaw & Co. would provide $10 million to help SunCal complete the approval process.

The City Council said it would agree to accept D.E. Shaw as a partner in the project if caveats are put into place that protect SunCal’s management of day-to-day operations. Both the city and the Navy are eager to see action on redevelopment of the 770-acre former Alameda Naval Air Station. The city wants an eyesore remade as a vibrant waterfront mixed-use development and the Navy wants to collect $108.5 million for the land.

While SunCal officials would not give a reason for taking on a financial partner at this early stage, the need for cash could be one reason.

SunCal, which has agreed to pay upfront costs, has been spending a lot of money on the pre-development effort – at least $2.7 million, according numbers provided by the city.

Robert - you and me both, bruthah, re the last part.  The views alone there would have to make any course pretty darn fun.

I wonder though if the others will suffer due to the competition.  I think we have more than enough golfers to support all three.... But in these economic times, who knows?

I just hope said times allow the new course to get built!  Not my area of expertise for sure.  I shall just wait and hope.

Yes we shall. What is the name of the new course just built in the NY area, Liberty National?? They are having the Barclays there next year. If I recall you can see downtown NY across the water. Sounds like it would be a pretty similar situation if the course in Alameda get built, but better!!!! SF over NY any day.

Despite the generous hint, 'east of the rockies', which narrowed it down quite a bit, I have to admit that I don't know what #4 is.

...

Clearly you have never been to Astoria. The dunes on either side of the green are 30 to 40 feet high. This course has a shallow depression by comparison.

Any new hints Mr. Benham?  Now that's it almost 3 years later and the treehouse is still stumped?   ;D

Where is Huck these days? Hope he is doing better than his Dodgers and Trojans!

I googled Huck and found this tid bit:

Mick Hucknall announced that the name Simply Red would be retired after a farewell tour that started in early 2009, and ended in 2010.[4]

“   "I've kind of decided that the 25 years is going to be enough, so I intend that the 2009 will be the last Simply Red tour."   ”

Who knew, maybe that he is now off tour he will come back and post.

What do you have against Huck? Tom was always one of the nicest posters here and added a lot to this forum. He was a great guy to play with as well.

The par-4 in the northwest corner of the property going south to north.  The picture is taken from the back-left of the green ...
