Designed by Tom Weiskopf, Dave Stockon, and Annika Sorenstam??????   I have never heard that, and I live out here.

Steve:

I can remember trying to find Porcupine Creek a few years back and it's one of the most hard to locate golf courses around. It's sort of like Yale -- near enough to everything but not somewhere that is so easy to find.

Overall, I think the facility would be better served in remaining as a private club given its location and low key role.

Does this mean all of the clubhouse and resort buildings will be changed to Japanese style and geishas running around everywhere?

Probably, and all Windows-powered devices will be destroyed before entering the premises.....

Does Ellison play golf?

This guy blows money more than anyone I have ever seen.  He owns multiple homes in Northern California and went on a buying binge in Malibu which nobody can figure out why.  Now he buys this place because he sponsors a tennis tournament 1 week a year in Indian Wells.

He earned it so he can do as he wishes. Don't get why some criticize the uber wealthy.

I believe in the Spring of 2010, Ellison purchased The Newport Mansion, The Astor's Beechwood Mansion.

I'm sure there are lots of deals out there if you have the $$$$

I'm not criticizing him, just questioning his motives especially for someone who doesn't play golf?
