Cannon Point - St. Simon's Island

Last weeks Golf World had news about Herb Kohler buying a plot of land near Frederica called Cannon Point.  Speculation was he would build a new resort there with at least one course.

Given the bankruptcy proceedings Sea Island is going through I'm pretty amazed someone would want to build something new there.

Then again if it does happen, I guess Pete Dye would be pretty happy!

He could have just bought out Sea Island. It has since been sold, hell, maybe he did buy it

One has to wonder what the business plan is in such an expensive, saturated place for golf. Ocean Forest, Frederica Golf Club and the Sea Island courses as well as Hampton Club and Sea Palms.

I suspect similar questions were once posed about developments in Palm Springs.
