Should the home of golf's flag be included in the GCA logo?
« on: September 07, 2010, 08:49:10 PM »
Great Britain's flag is included, however the golf of Scotland would seem to justify it's inclusion on it's own.

After all isn't all about the golf?

Thanks! :)

I thought the origin of golf is the home of golf or "Kolf"... the Netherlands...  ;D

If GCA wanted to kill all the birds...go with a globe, LOL.

Just saying that the flag of Scotland is missing and that is significant when you going with flags in a golf logo. ;)

I think what Rob meant, quite correctly, was that the Union Flag already incorporates the Saltire.  If you add the Saltire then you'll need to add the Cross of St George and the Northern Irish flag.
In June I will be riding the first three stages of this year's Tour de France route for charity.  630km (394 miles) in three days, with 7800m (25,600 feet) of climbing for the William Wates Memorial Trust (https://rideleloop.org/the-charity/) which supports underprivileged young people.

We'd be happy to incorporate that tacky little banner of yours anytime ;)

Neffers, that was very informative, although a bit confusing with all the variations of the Union Jack, for we folk back here in the colony.  If your lot win the Ryder in Wales, will you have to add that fierce looking red dragon?  ;D
No actual golf rounds were ruined or delayed, nor golf rules broken, in the taking of any photographs that may be displayed by the above forum user.

William

The Home of Golf Flag is already included on GCA.com Heading albeit within the Union Flag. The make up on the Union Flag includes St Andrews, St Georges and St Patrick’s flags (thats enough Saints for one flag)

Its included and covered unless you feel you want the lone Cross of St Andrews – As the town is the Home of Golf then I feel that the Union Flag engulfs and welcomes all i.e. All Nations under The Sun and Subject only to the Winds.
