I know this is far back in the thread, but thanks for the examples.  I remember now that Merion as an unbalence 70.  I forgot, but thanks your yoru breadth of knowlege, you've saved me from certain doom!!!  I must say, that is very unique.  Could an architect get away with the unbalenced course today?  I am not familier with the par at Alwoodley, Mr. Glenn, but I certainly know that it was his first!!!  I hope to see it some day!!!  So the story goes, McKenzie did such a good job of making the course look natural, some of the people who even saw the project progress from start to finish swore that most of the course was natural (which it most certainly wasn't).  I should read his book again.  Are there any par 73 courses around?

I'm not as sure about the par 73s, but I believe the following are:

NGLA  (National Golf Links of America)
Royal Portrush
Woodhall Spa
Glen Abbey
Garden City
Interlachen

Wentworth West is a par 74!  Rye is a par 68!
