Advice for Fort Myers Area
« on: August 15, 2010, 10:09:41 AM »
I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for the Fort Myers area?  I was thinking about trying Old Corkscrew and The Hideout.  Does anyone else suggests any other courses, restaurants, attractions etc?

Rick,
Its been a few years but Fiddlesticks CC (near the airport) has two great 18's. Both older FL courses which seem to have more character that is missing from most of the newer intros. Not sure about access now but have seen ads for Fiddlesticks recently in some of the golf travel books.
Also, there was one; Ole Florida somewhere around Ft Myers, that was walking only when opened in the late 80's.
Don't remember the architects after sooo long but you will not be disappointed.

Good luck

Ray

I have not played them but there have been postings about River Hall (Davis Love) and Pelican Preserve (Chip Powell) being worthwhile.

Rick,

If you can get on the Hideout, I think it is the most fun of any of the courses in the area.  For public, River Hall in Ft Myers was among the best for me.

Unfortunately, the golf in the area, as a whole, is quite poor.
I get it, you are mad at the world because you are an adult caddie and few people take you seriously.

Excellent spellers usually lack any vision or common sense.

I know plenty of courses that are in the red, and they are killing it.

Plantation cc near the airport is good

Long Mean at Fiddlesticks is terrific. The wee friendly is very tight.
