Does anybody know who makes the mattresses at Bandon Dunes?  They're the most comfortable I've ever experienced.

I'd also love to know who makes those showerheads.  They're not as great as Merion, but they're close!

The key to the Merion showerheads is not the showerheads. It is the size of the pipe! Lots of great showerheads out there these days but try finding a contractor willing to break building code(s) to match Merion and that is a tougher path to blaze.

When my club was built they intended to have the Merion/PV showerheads but didn't do it because of the piping...

OK - Back to the mattresses - Sure, some of it had to do with walking 36 a few days in a row, but they were the most comfortable beds I've ever used.  Please, guys - I need to buy that mattress!

I wonder if they'd tell me if I just called?

The best mattresses are in Westin Hotels. The one in Portland was fantastic. I will be in Bandon in two weeks and will let you know who makes theirs though.

  What is nice about the showers at Bandon is that they are big enough for 2 maybe even 3 people.

The showers at Merion are one of the top reasons I like playing there.  That and the golf course. :)

Dan, that was going to be my explanation.  Although I am in no way knocking the quality of the mattresses at Bandon, I would guess that most of your infatuation with them had to do with the fact that you were walking (and probably carrying) 36 holes a day.

What I love most about the Bandon lodgings is the soap!  Not sure what it smells like (oranges maybe?), but it was the best smelling soap I've ever used...I need to figure out where to get me some of it!
