If you're willing to make the trip for a Doak 5, I'd say it's definitely worth it. As a long-time NYC metro-area public golfer can attest, its one of the better quality public routings and a tremendous value. I've probably made 10-20 trips up there from NYC, and would agree with many of the comments here. 1, 2 and 18 are a bit of an odd fit due to the wetlands, but rest of the course (and especially the back nine) make for a very fun golf course with an array of shot values.
