Cheers David & Kye,
Considering the crew was a revolving door of local Polish workers, with the addition of a Finn who assisted with finish work around the greens and tees for a couple months, and a buddy brought in for the last months to cut bunkers and install rootzone, the project was a daily pursuit of trying to make the most of our opportunities with the locals. As noted in the Construction Progression docs, the project started with another's detailed plans and a "qualified builder" but went badly. I was brought in after 10-months, the plans were trashed and the project started anew.
The 12th, short par-5 (460 meters; 505 yards), is a hole I've spent the most time thinking about after the fact, as I think it could be one that could be slightly overcooked and could be softened in a couple places to be more fun. For example, I wouldn't mind seeing the landing area to the left on the second shot converted to fairway (currently waste area), with the hillocks within the waste converted to small nasty bunkers. This would make it a little more forgiving on the second for the average golfer, yet interesting as your ball could end up in difficult to recover from pit. It would make maintenance easier too, as I think it will be a challenge to keep the area sandy.
The 16th green is a tiny target. Would you believe it was 4 meters narrower when it was first roughed out?! I think it's wider than the 10th at Riviera, there are no bunkers and you're able to bump it on from all angles.
