How often have you played it with a top left pin ?

I've played it three times now and it's only been down the bottom.

And the hole closes on Saturday, as the 2nd will be back in play. :(

I love the top pin position. Needless to say it takes a good spine to go for it - I'm sure our own Brian Walshe wouldn't think twice about having a go there  ;D

Kevin,

I've played it 3 or 4 times but never with the pin there.  If it was it would be wedge, wedge to keep Scott and the Andrews happy.

The second wedge would be playing your third shot from the tee having sent ball #1 into the mulga?!

I've played it twice & both times it was up top. On one occasion I lipped out a 10 foot putt for birdie, then watch the ball trickle down the slope leaving about a 25 foot return putt. Hilarious stuff!

Greens are back in play, but I've heard the temps will still be in play on non competition days.

Have you played the greens since they came back & what are they like?

Yes I have Andrew. They are good in the fact that they are recovering, but they are not quick. Probably 8 on the stintmeter and slightly bumpy.

That was a week ago, however I'm back out tomorrow so I'll give you another update then. :)

Brian, I'm still very interested on hearing your thoughts on my golf course. It'd make for an interesting discussion...

I noticed this recent review on GCAer John Sorbino's webpage. Some interesting thoughts about the course.

Sabino*  ;D

It is a very good review and an interesting read. I can't wait to see John's take on some sandbelt courses in particular.

You left this bit out of John's review:

"I think it is appropriately rated. It's one of the top 50 in the world."  ;D

Thanks mate. My bad, I've only just realised he's not actually named Joe Rigo. Bit slow on the uptake!

But while we're correcting each other, it's "stimpmeter", not "stintmeter" ;)

Trust you to pick up on something like that! :)

Greens are getting better as we speak. Probably running at an 8-9 on the stintmeter.  ;)

Michael,

I was thinking today about our disagreement re: the best place from which to approach the 10th green. Has your opinion changed at all since we first talked about that, or are you still adament RHS is the place to be?

Hey Scott,

Nah I still prefer to come in from the RHS. I'm not adament that it's the best spot to be, but it's where I prefer to come in from.

Also, I remember a comment you made when we were discussing the 3rd hole. Something along the lines of 'just because you are familiar with coming in from the RHS, doesn't make it the best spot to be." I disagree with that statement, because the best angle to attack from can be different for different people. But I don't believe the RHS on 3 is the best spot to come in from anymore, but I still believe it to be for No. 10.

Hopefully Brian can get started on this again, so that we can let some other GCA'ers decide the best angle of attack on 10 is.

:)

Played again today, and the greens are still quite poor...
