Kinloch (Lester George) in VA.

I  have heard many glowing reports re this course, including mention of nice long par fours. I am curious about the group of par threes. Do these holes have a variety of length and playing attributes. How about the short par fours at Kinloch  ?

The short par 4's at Kinloch are one of the absolute strengths of the course.  #4 is one of my favorite short 4's anywhere.  It's a 334 yard (from the tips) hole that features a split fairway that is bisected by a creek.  The safe play is to hit a 200 yard shot up the right side fairway leaving a full wedge approach.  The aggressive play is to go up the left side challenging the creek and well placed fairway bunkers.  A shot that is 30 yards short and left of the green can catch a downslope and bounce on the green.  The green is also a challenge as the back half of the green runs away towards the back. 

#15 is a 328 yard par 4 that also is playable for all yet a unique challenge for the big hitter.  The green on #15 is one of most severe on the course with some excellent pins that make position off the tee critical. 

The par 3's are very good as a group.  My favorites are #5, 194 yards from the back.  It has one of the best greens on the course.  #14 is a 152 yard par 3 along the edge of the lake.  The green runs away from you and the anything sliightly long will collect off the green and most likely go in the water.  It's a short hole that demands respect and a well played shot.
