North Berwick                Which one?
Rosapenna                    Which one?
Panmure                      The Barry Course?
Leven                           The original?
Scotscraig                     The original?
Ladybank                      Old Tom 12 holes 1879
Monifieth                       Which one?

I have some information in my files on these but which course or phase are you after. If you answer, it may take me a few days to search my paper files. Old Tom was involved with all but at various stages, design, mods etc.

PS East Devon by RTosswill 1902 9 holes ;  Fairhaven founded in late 1890's but current course in 1924 by Braid & Steer ; Downfield 1932 course by Braid although founded in 1895

Adare was done by Robert Trent Jones
Royal Dublin has had major revisions by Martin Hawtree recently

Adi,

Royal Dublin is a HS Colt Course recently updated by Martin Hawtree by dad plays there every year.

Downfield's 1932 course was done by James Braid (as Melvyn mentioned) and now only 5 holes remain of that course which was redesigned in 1964 by two members - Jack Scrimgeour and Les Wright - no mention of CK Cotton on their website. It is currently being modified by DJ Russell. I played there in the late 90's while at university.

Cheers
Ben

It's complicated!!

Rosapenna (Old): Old Tom Morris (1891) / Anthony Brown (1893), Harry Vardon (1906), Braid (????), H.S. Colt (1913), Hackett (possibly 1969 as course was revised around this date, but not clear what he did).

Rosapenna (Valley & Strand nines): All of the above plus Pat Ruddy (Strand Nine).

Rosapenna (Sandy Hills): Pat Ruddy

I think Fairhaven was Tom Steer (local pro/archie) with advice from Braid. It was said to have had 365 bunkers - one for each day of the year, but there are a third of that number today.

I think it is not known who laid out Crowborough Beacon, or, rather, nobody at the club could tell me when I wrote an article about the course for a book some ten years ago.
