Name The course, or architect, or both!
« on: April 03, 2009, 10:11:49 PM »
I saw this picture online and thought it looked really beautiful looking. I've heard next to nothing about this course but from the tiny pics I've seen on their website it looks like it has a lot of potential. This is the only large pic I've seen of this place. Looks pretty sweet to me.
Any ideas on the course or architect?

The picture's properties indicate Wisconsin, so its probably Whistling Straits.

The flat ledges of fairway in the background remind me of some of Kyle Philips work that I have seen.

I said "I've heard next to nothing about this course". If your guess is Whistling Straits then you really must think I live under a rock!  :D

I cheated, so I know the course name and designer.  If you want to have success with this type of thing, you really need to rename the image so us right-clickers can't use the properties feature.

I have not heard of the course prior and was amazed to see the designer, as this person normally gets a lot of press.  Joel Zuckerman, care to comment?

All you right-clickers are like kids who can't play a video came without all the cheat-codes on!  ;)

Anyways, this is Big Fish golf club in Wisconsin, designed by Pete Dye (with Tim Liddy, I do believe). Their website has a few small pics and I have to say, those small pics make it seem like one of the more appealing-looking Dye courses I have seen in years. Anyone played it and have thoughts? Tim? Joel?

All's fair in the game.  How else can we guess it?  Do you know how hard I had to work to uncover the answer?  Wasn't a simple case of paste and enter.
